What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of telecommunication such as through phone and or video to provide health related services.

What are the benefits of telehealth vs. in person visits?

Telehealth benefits include: reduced travel, convenience, increased flexibility within your schedule and improved access to providers.

Is Telehealth effective, private, and confidential?

Yes! Our clinicians are held to the same standards of care, privacy & confidentiality through telehealth as they are for in person visits. If privacy is a concern with video chat visits you also have the option of an appointment by telephone. Our therapists work day, late afternoon and evenings to work around schedules with the hopes of finding an optimal time for you.

Will my insurance cover telehealth?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, most insurance companies are covering a wide variety of services through Telehealth, however each policy is unique. If you are not certain whether your insurance will cover Telehealth, please contact the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to verify.

I am uncomfortable about being on video. Do I have any other options?

Yes! We can do therapy by phone or you can turn your camera function off on the video platform, allowing you to still see us but without having yourself on video.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A VIRTUAL ART THERAPY SESSION?

You will be emailed a link to join your private telehealth session. I will provide an art therapy directive and you choose art media that feels most comfortable to you. You can use any materials you have access to at home, such as pencils, markers, scrap paper, etc, or you may create digital art using a virtual white board. After creating art you may be asked to discuss the process and the meaning, if you are comfortable doing so.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A VIRTUAL PLAY THERAPY SESSION?

I facilitate play therapy through telehealth by using structured interventions such as games, movement, music, art, storytelling, performance, and more, to work through the problems that brought you or your child to therapy. We may also apply digital play using a virtual sand tray, doll house, or virtual white board. Through those modalities we build connections, explore issues, and develop coping skills.
